    "RUSSIAN" PAIN PERDU - Cut 4-6 slices of bread, 1/2 inch thick. Brush with olive oil or butter. Place bread in a frying pan in a single layer. Lightly toast on both sides. Beat one egg and 1 2/3 oz. of milk together, and pour mixture over the bread. Sprinkle salt, pepper and grated cheese (if desired). Once egg mixture has fully cooked over the bread, garnish with chopped parsley and serve.
