A rustic gate of cedar and willow is a fitting welcome to a cozy cottage garden filled with a riot of intertwining perennials. The matching fence discourages deer, while the arbor and its cascade of wisteria complete the tableau.

I MUST have pinned this before. I love the whimsical shape of the entry and OF COURSE, I love the gate. Lovely little pops of fragrant posies that lily of the valley are.

Could make this with the cuttings - nice reddish cast to the bark of the willow cuts.

Arbor with clematis & bench seat. Arbors not only add character to your garden but are a clever vertical structure to grow climbers like edibles or flowers. They soften the frame, add colour, increase growing space and create a shaded nook. More design ideas @ themicrogardener.... | The Micro Gardener

Back view of the Poppy Gate (lower flower heads were turned around to add interest). Hand forged by Nottinghamshire based Artist Blacksmith Adrian Stapleton of Trinity Forge. Really delicate, beautiful, and I love that it's not straight across.

I think I can figure out what makes this one secret... The hush that comes over one who is contemplating going through the gate and venturing into the seductive darkness just beyond the shock of light green...That is a secret place for sure... where any number of magical, secretive, breathtaking things may occur! and. . . when you return you must keep the secrets!!!

love this secret garden look. any vine plant will attach to surface and grow around. beautiful

Yes, I know it's a fence. But those curls would look really cool in a wire pendant with gemstones or beads attached/dangling.

I like this worn out old rusty one! I imagine years of happy use and little ones in and out daily:)
