DIY Drip Irrigation System, Made from Plastic Bottles- The 'system' is super simple. All we have to do is grab some 2-liter plastic bottles, punch 2 holes into the sides and 2 into the bottom, and plant said bottles next to our plants. Fill them with water and our plants will get that slow watering they prefer.- interesting idea.

Oh wow... why didn't I think of this?

Take that mosquitos!- Mosquito trap - Cut the top off a 2 liter bottle. Invert the cone and place it inside the straight part of the bottle. Glue the two pieces together. Add 1 tsp yeast and 1/2 cup sugar to some luke warm water, and pour the mixture into the bottle. Mosquitoes are attracted to the carbon dioxide that you exhale. The yeast feeds off the sugar and emits the same gas, so the mosquito enters the bottle, thinking she will find food there.

why didn't i think of that?

Cut the bottom off a plastic pot to contain invasive plants bury in the ground. I have been doing this for a few years works great for containing plants that tend to spread, but that I still want to plant in the garden. This also works good for planting a plant in an area that tends to get filled with roots etc. from other plants. I will use a larger pot so that the plant can spread it's roots and grow deeper roots, but keeps other tree roots from choking out the one I planted.

the world's most perfect fertilizer + pesticide is epsom salt. This is so true- every other week- 1 gallon of water, 1 TBSP of miracle grow and 3 TBSP of epsom salt- I promise a great garden all season. Hmmm, I really should try this.

Brew a pot of coffee and let it cool. Pour into spray bottle and spray on plants. It freaks out the bugs and gives your plants (if they are the type that need it) a tiny shot of nitrogen.
