The Slinky was invented in 1943 by Richard James and first sold by Gimbal's Department stores in 1945. In 1960 Richard James gave all his money to a religious cult and moved to Bolivia. In 1962 his wife Betty James, reorganized the company, began an advertising campaign and gave us the Slinky we know today.

OLD COMMERCIALS #2 (the 70's) Oh MY WORD!!! I COULD QUOTE ALLL OF THESE COMMERCIALS.. IT SEEMS LIKE JUST YESTERDAY I WATCHED THESE EVERY DAY ON TV!!! And I can sing the ENTIRE BOUNCE jingle with that family!! And the Life Cereal commercial "He likes it, Hey Mikey"!!! CLASSIC STUFF HERE MY FRIENDS!!!!

Weebles wobble but they don't fall down TV commercial...I absolutely LOVED the original weebles!
