Doubles Chant for Morning Meeting: each child shakes a container with dice and adds the numbers on the two number cubes (GREAT formative assessment!). If a student rolls a double, the class stands up and does the chant. After sitting back down, the container continues moving around the circle until each student has had a chance. You could easily do the same activity for multiplication with older kiddos.

I used this FREE doubles rap with my first graders during transitions. It helped my students learn the doubles facts much faster than worksheets. The rap reads 1 + 1 = 2 - one plus one is two. Rapping like the queen refers to Queen Latifah who is pictured. My boys liked to echo "rapping like a queen" with "or king" We would also pretend to dress up in rapper clothes before singing each time. Created by Curious Jones
