Fred Rodgers, will you be my neighbor?

Mr Rogers, part of my childhood! It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day for a neighbor. Won't you be mine?

It was on every Sunday night

The Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday nights. --- We ALL looked forward to Sunday evening (every family w/a t. watched the same movie on Sunday, it seemed) ---

Telephone Dial

Rotary Dial~ Phone numbers used to be according to letter, e., Lincoln 54321 So the phone number was 545 321 and that's why we originally had letters on our rotary phones.

I do not miss this crap. Kids today will never know the struggle of getting up to change the channel!

"Turning the dial" on the TV.we got THREE channels. Had to get up to turn it in and off, turn the volume up or down and change channels.

Captain Kangaroo...with Mr Green Jeans, Moose, Dancing Bear...

Boy, I'll say, I loved Captain Kangaroo every morning. I remember when I was young, one time my mother was wanting to dress me for the day and I said."Not in front of Captain Kangaroo".funny how I remember that so clearly.

Elementary School Glue

stereo set

LP's and I think we had this exact same stereo/record player in my house when I was growing up. My mom would come home with old (when the jukebox man would change the records at work & give her the old ones) and I'd play them on this.

Silly Putty was so cool. It could do so many things, even bounce! This picture reminded me of how much I loved transferring newspaper images!

Silly Putty and Peanuts Comic Strip. Loved doing this with the Sunday funnies.
