Schema Anchor Chart and a lesson on schema using The Great Kapok Tree

anchor chart - schema (with children's book example)

A great way to access prior knowledge and see what need to be clarified when starting new topics. For younger classes, the teacher can write ideas up. For older classes, students can write on the chart or write on sticky notes! Great to keep up with over the years and see what similarities you have with students' ideals

Schema. Will keep this on hand for next time I teach about inferences and drawing conclusions.

schema anchor chart - I have a poster that I made VERY similar to this one! Great lesson to teach kids how to know what is schema, what we use our schema for, and how to get more schema!

This is SUCH an awesome anchor chart for teaching schema -- combine it with the "parking lot" for schema, new learning, and misconceptions, and it'd make a great bulletin board.

I hear the word "schema" all day long. In literacy, if you don't know the answer...a safe bet would be "schema"
