    My toxic cleaner rant last week sparked an interesting discussion. Many readers had great questions about the toxicity of their particular cleaners and/or how to find good, green alternatives for specific issues, from cleaning up pee and poop accidents to getting tubs and showers sparkling clean.

      Homemade Carpet Cleaner Mix white vinegar and baking soda together to form a paste. Then, work the paste into the carpet stain with an old toothbrush, or something similar. Allow the paste to dry; then vacuum up the baking soda, and the stain should be gone!

      Baking soda and vinegar will do a multitude of things in the kitchen. Use it as a drain cleaner, to clean the tops of glass top stoves, or to clean the grease off of the bottom of an oven. Just put the baking soda down first, then add a splash of vinegar and let the chemical reaction do the work for you.

    Wood floor cleaning. 1- dust mop well, 2- use 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts warm water to mop. Keep in mind do not soak the floor, always keep the mop wrung out. After floor is 100% dry, use 1 to 1 white vinegar to vegetable oil. Spray lightly!!! Then with a dust cloth rub in. End results are awesome!
