Smoky, the unofficial mascot of Los Angeles’ 1932 Summer Olympics
Olympics Games, 2012 Olympics, 1932 Olympics, The Angel, Olympics Mascot, Official Mascot, 1932 Games, Olympics Village, 1932 Summer
By far the best Olympic mascot, “Smoky” was the official mascot for the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Born in the Olympic Village just before the games, Smoky was a success because he was real, and most importantly, adorable.
Smoky is an older mascot than Waldi, even if he was not recognised officially. This black Scottish terrier could be seen walking around the Olympic Village for the 1932 Games in Los Angeles wearing the coat we see here. So even if he was not the official mascot of these Games in Los Angeles, Smoky was certainlya very popular ©Getty
