      SURREALISM EYE PROJECT by heidabjorg, via Flickr...would love to use this concept...choose a subject, then look through books/websites to get ideas..for example if we chose a bee, we could make a baseball themed bee, a floral bee, a paisley bee, a football bee, etc...it would encourage creativity, research, and if we did them with different media then assembled the project as a whole it would teach different media styles, and about collaboration

      Surrealism eyes -inspired by Magritte's painting LE FAUX MIROIR. Also looked at Echer's eye. Discussed how surrealism is dreamlike or an altered reality made to make you think. The students began by just drawing several eye shapes, sketch and re-sketch ideas until they had one they were happy with (this part is important as ideas take time to develop). Some students had many ideas others had a hard time with one. For those with no ideas I talked about their interests (eg. hockey)
