Original SNL Cast- I used to sneak to our TV late at night and watch this show as a very little girl. The next day, I would tape record my version of their monologues, especially loved Gilda Radner! I'm sure I didn't get a lot of their adult humor being so young, but even then I knew they were funny as hell ;0) -DB

Red Skeleton-an American entertainer best known for being a national radio and television comedian between 1937 and 1971. Red Skelton: Also loved the Red Skelton Show and all of his funny characters. He was from Vincennes, Indiana and I met him in the bookstore at Ball State University once while he was buying some paints (he was an artist, too.) He was so kind and nice and SUPER TALL. Ha.
Red Skelton was hilarious. He often broke the fourth wall and spoke directly to the TV audience during his frequent ad lib comments. He cracked up at his own jokes but we loved him for it.
The Red Skelton Show. Very funny comedian. He had all kind of characters that he used in his skits!
Vintage TV: The Red Skelton Show consisted of sketches featuring the comic characters Red created.

The Uncle played in many of the first and second season episodes of Green Acres. The only character on Petticoat Junction that I thought was obnoxious! Not a role example for sure! Otherwise - this show was zany and a semi-real and entertaining capture of what rural America was believed to encounter along the tracks of backwoods life.
