My grandma taught me this many years ago. Refreshing towels I use this trick all the time since I noticed my towels smelling funky. It works! - Over time, towels build up detergent and fabric softener, leaving them unable to absorb as much water and smelly. Recharge them by washing them once with hot water and 1cup vinegar, then a 2nd time with hot water and half cup baking soda. This strips the residue and leaves them fresh and able to absorb more water again. Works like a charm!
Make your own cleaner - Orange peels, vinegar in a quart jar, let sit for 10 days or so...strain out the liquid and use as an all-purpose cleaner. Easy, cheap, natural, smells good! (Homestead Survival on Facebook)
How to Remove Rust Stains from Fabric In a bowl, mix 1-2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of salt. Apply to stain with a soft sponge. Allow area to dry in direct sunlight if possible. Repeat if it doesn’t come out the first time. Launder as usual.
Miracle cleaner (stain remover for clothing, furniture, carpet, grout etc)Ingredients for Miracle Cleaner: 1 part Dawn Dishwashing Liquid (the original blue kind) 2 parts Hydrogen Peroxide Mix together and pour directly on the stain.
ONLY use this and it leaves floor spotless. (Heavy duty floor cleaner recipe: cup white vinegar 1 tablespoon liquid dish soap cup baking soda 2 gallons tap water, very warm.) It leaves everything smelling amazing.
