The last film by Miyazaki before the 72 year old retired. I wouldnt say its as good as his previous movies like howls, spirited away, the cat returns and whisper of the heart, but it's too cute and has a simple yet heartwarming storyline to it ((:
Ponyo. This is such a fabulous story and so lovingly told with delicacy and a tenderness that leaves one in a state of near ecstasy upon its conclusion. Directed by master Japanese animator/writer Hayao Miyazaki, this film is just the sort of thing that makes the world seem like a better place than it seemed going in.
“The concept of portraying evil and then destroying it - I know this is considered mainstream, but I think it is rotten. This idea that whenever something evil happens someone particular can be blamed and punished for it, in life and in politics, is hopeless.” | Hayao Miyazaki
