Do everything without whining, complaining or arguing. Every one has their own jar. Start off the week with a set amount of quarters in each jar. If they are caught whining or complaining, they lose a quarter. At the end of the week, they get the money that remains. Must start NOW!!!:)

FINALLY! THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR! You do not get paid for chores because it's an expected part of being a family. Allowance is teaching children how to manage money. Thank you, Pinterest. Now I have a place to start.

A commission schedule for kids instead of handing them money for an allowance - great idea. I would have done a lot more chores when I was younger! frugaldad.com/do-you-pay-your-kids-an-allowance/

This is AMAZING! All the things you work on to train your children tabbed and highlighted with a key in the front. Training topics include: anger, complaining, lying, laziness, THE GOSPEL! After 15 years of failed allowance systems and chore charts that were way too much work, I found an easy system that works for us.

neat rewards system...31 quarters in the jar at the beginning of the month, every day that they do not do their chores, they lose a quarter. Whatever is left at the end of the month they exchange for cash and the quarter jar is refilled.

Consequence Jar...pair with a rewards jar for good behavior. I would call them "Good Decision" and "Bad Decision" jars.

Fun idea: If you don't pick something up after one warning, this mom confiscates it and puts it in a "ransom box." The only way you can get it back is to draw a task from the envelope attached to the box lid. Her tasks are hilarious!

This was the best idea ever!! I changed it up a bit though. I made one for each child. Not only did they get a rock for every wise choice, they had to take one out for every bad choice. This way they were individually rewarded or punished. It has really made them stop and think about the choices they are making. Works 100xs better than time-outs and threats.

A great idea for kids who whine about being bored. ;)
