Many people remember a fallen soldier as a person in uniform. Sometimes that soldier is the four legged friend who saved your life by being a bomb-sniffing dog and finding the IED and warns you about it before it explodes. This is a sad but beautiful picture of pure respect for 2 fallen heroes.

A soldier reunited with his dog. So sweet! My heart just about jumped out of my chest..this is beautiful!!!

For the past 6 years, a German shepherd called Capitán has slept next to the grave of his owner every night at 6pm. His owner, Miguel Guzmán died in 2006. Capitán, the dog, disappeared while the family attended the funeral services. A week later relatives of Guzmán were visiting the cemetery when they were astounded to find the dog next to the owner’s grave. The cemetery director says that the dog comes around each night at 6pm, and has done so for the past 6 years. @Becky Dwyer

My name is SSgt John Makripodis. I am from Seymour-Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina. My MWD Carlos (F337) was euthanized today due to cancer. MWD Carlos was 11 years old and had served 8 tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. He was a legend at Seymour-Johnson and to all who worked with him. He was a Dutch Shepherd. He prevented the loss of life many times. He was a true hero. MWD Carlos changed 6 handlers' lives in the past eleven years and he will never be…
