Ptolemy VI Philometor c. 186–145 BCE, a Ptolemaic dynasty King, is shown wearing the pschent, the traditional double crown of Ancient Egypt. Greek artwork, 3rd–2nd century BCE in a gold ring engraved with his image. Ptolemaic rulers wore the Pschent in Egypt only & wore the diadem in the other territories. The Pschent's invention is attributed to the 1st Dynasty pharaoh Menes, but first to wear a Double Crown was 1st Dynasty pharaoh Djet: a rock inscription shows his Horus wearing it.
