D'Evereux Plantation in Natchez, MS.....built 1840

Waverly Mansion, 10 miles east of West Point, MS was built in 1852 by Col. George Hampton Young of Georgia. It is a striking example of antebellum elegance with an octagonal shaped cupola & self supporting curved stairways. The plantation was a self-sustaining community with gardens, orchards & livestock. It maintained a brick kiln, cotton gin, ice house & swimming pool with a bathhouse.
