The Giant Jam Sandwich--It's not just the words in the title that can be used for practicing affricates! There are plenty of /ch/ & /dz/ especially in medial position in vocab appropriate for elementary schoolers, including, itching, villager, suggestion, etc.
"I love you through and through, yesterday, today and tomorrow too!" This is one of the three books that I read to my son when I was pregnant with him and after he was born too. It was a great book that allowed us to interact with one another as he got older and understood what those words meant. It is one of those books that I always give to friends when they are expecting as well. And I find myself, saying that phrase to my son quite frequently and he knows what I mean too.
