How To Make Kombucha - Part 2 Joe Jonge Cohen O'Neil This is apparently another way to do it. It's weird that this info graphic is only for a half gallon. Furthermore, refrigerating a SCOBY will not kill it. It makes it dormant and a new baby won't form. Also fruit teas don't kill it. When you have a bunch of healthy SCOBYs, you can experiment and try fermenting other things beyond tea. Same with water kefir.
How to Make Kombucha Tea: This is SO easy once you do it--at the 'Spice Up the Flavor' Step, we actually add small pieces of fruit (blueberries, strawberries, peach bits) or slices ginger (my FAV--we might try adding to brewed TEA earlier in process, to see if it gets as spicy as we want) for desired flavors! It's fun and REALLY good for you!
