Lorenzo Duran Silva, 43, from Guadalajara, near Madrid, was inspired to create the delicate pieces after watching a caterpillar make holes in a leaf by eating it.
An exclusive collection for Heals AW2012 called 'woodland'. Inspired by the forests of Great Britain the patterns are graphic representations of British trees and leaf forms and feature on rugs, cushions, tableware, drum shades, and a doormat.
This piece was fired and then hand glazed, then wiped down so each detail shows crystal clearly, and finally glazed in a clear glaze. It is then re-fired. Antique lace and handmade stamps were used to make recessed impressions while the clay was still wet.
