    18. Favorite book written by an African American Beloved by Toni Morrison Beloved is a novel by the American writer Toni Morrison. Set after the American Civil War (1861–1865), it is inspired by the story of an African-American slave, Margaret Garner, who temporarily escaped slavery during 1856 in Kentucky by fleeing to Ohio, a free state.

Yes, Diary of a Wimpy Kid. After watching the second movie of this series of books with ivelazquez's family, her son wanted me to borrow all his books. I only borrowed the first. Every night I read a little and love it. It makes me laugh a lot :)

One of my favorite books of all time. This author also wrote Number the Stars, another good book for young readers.

Toni Morrison, that'd be the woman who won both a Nobel Prize in '93 and a Pulitzer Prize in '87, has created an epic that somehow managed to make it onto a list of "Banned Books"! I love that. This one is the wicked coming of age tale of one Macon "Milkman" Dead III and it is a doozy. There's one scene that captures the essence of "fightin' words" among a group of Black men that rings my bell every time. Enjoy!

This book sounded really interesting to me so I downloaded it to my NookColor. I'm going to start in on it soon. Will drop a review on Goodreads.

One of the best books that gets me back in an "everything happens for a reason" mindset. Beautiful.
