A great way to practice narrative writing. Read this book to the class. Brainstorm a list of all the things the snowmen did at night. Have students create their own activity. They write 3 paragraphs, developing the characters in the first, describing the snowman's activity and a problem faced in the second and solving the problem in the third. You can add an art element to this by having students design a snowman doing their nighttime activity.
"Little Snowflake" is the story of a snowman brought to life by the magic and beauty of snowfall. As he tries to ice skate, he learns the value of perseverance and teamwork. Great for discussing weather and to review parts of the body (head, nose, hand).
