Holiday garland - Cut pieces of ribbon and/or fabric that are approx. 9 inches long by 2 inches wide.  Both ends should be cut on an angle to prevent fraying.  Knot each piece of ribbon & fabric onto a strand of lights.

Could I paint up all the plastic spools I go through for something like this or would it look dumb?

With all of the scrapbooking and other paper craft goodies available now, today's garlands are so much better than what we had in the 80's.

Cut "Happy Birthday" w/ Cricut (1.5"). Glued letters to hearts, punched holes in the tops and strung coordinating ribbon through to hang. Took two hours, off and on.

Hearts on a String Give your headboard a little love. Dress it up with a strand of sweet streamers. Cut and then sew together layers of scrap fabric or felt. String them together with a pretty ribbon and attach horizontally across your headboard. Try the same concept with handkerchiefs, clothespins, and twine for a vintage feel.
