IRISH SODA BREAD. 4 c flour, 3 tbs sugar, 1 tbs baking powder, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 stick butter, 1 c raisins, 2 eggs, 1.5 c buttermilk. Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in butter. Add raisins. Mix wet ingredients & reserve 1 tbs. Stir into flour till just moistened. Knead on floured board for 10 seconds. Make into ball & place in greased casserole. Brush with egg mixture. Bake 350* 70 min. Let set 10 min before serving.
