Streaks - northern lights - distressing/watercolouring

You begin with a very abstract watercolor and after it has dried you go back with India ink and a bamboo skewer and create flowers out of the watercolor splots (sorry, couldn't think of a better word.)

handmade card .... olive with orange a splash of orange ... circle flowers ... luv the die cut frame technique used on the top layer ... water splotching of Distress Ink ... beautiful simplicity!!

Stormy Skies by heather maria, via Flickrwatercolour paper. Then I dabbed distress inks (shabby shutters, broken china and faded jeans) onto a piece of tinfoil and spritzed with water. I placed the embossed image in the ink, and hoped for the best as this was my first time trying this technique! The first attempt turned into a blobby mess so this is the second attempt.
