An official poster for the 1924 Paris Olympic Games featuring saluting athletes by Jean Droit (1884-1961). The official poster competition for Paris in 1924 received no less than 150 entries. This may explain why the Committee selected two designs for the Games. The other, considered the secondary poster, by Orsi (1889-1947), features a javelin thrower.

An official poster for the 1912 Stockholm Olympic Games by the artist Olle Hjortzberg dated 1911. Produced in 16 different languages this example being in Dutch. 1912 was the first Olympic Games that adopted an official poster, a tradition that endures to the present day. The design represents the March of the Nations. The poster was not distributed in some countries who deemed the design to be too "'daring", with the central athlete's modesty barely preserved by the flailing of his flag.

An official poster for the 1960 Rome Olympic Games, by Armando Testa. The design for this poster was fiercely contested with 212 artists submitting 249 designs. The winning artist Armando Testa was from Turin who produced a modern interpretation of the Belvedere Capital including the she-wolf suckling Romulus & Remus, whilst the capital itself portrays the crowning of a victorious athlete.
