Gregory Peck, winner of the Best Actor Oscar (To Kill a Mockingbird, 1962). One of the world's most popular film stars from the 1940s--1960s, Peck is best known for his role as Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird. He had also been nominated for a Best Actor Oscar four previous times before winning in 1963. Peck continued his film career until the late 1970s, starring in The Boys from Brazil in 1978. In 1999, the AFI named Peck among the Greatest Male Stars of All Time, ranking at No. 12.
