I love this Pablo Neruda poem, and I cried a bucket when it was read in Patch Adams. This image has a typo in it, unfortunately, but it does capture my favorite segment. I think the full work should be read to fully appreciate it, though: "I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz, or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off. I love you as certain dark things are to be loved, in secret, between the shadow and the soul. I love you as the plant that never blooms but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers; thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance, risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body. I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way than this: where I does not exist, nor you, so close that your hand on my chest is my hand, so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

You read his poems, and at first they just seem like jumbled nonsense... But after you have read it over and over... you realize that he has captured the spirit of a poem so wonderfully he doesn't need to write the way everyone else does in order to be understood....

An elderly man quoted this to me while talking about his wife when they were younger, always makes me smile :)

"everything carries me to you. as if everything that exists, aromas, lights, metals were little boats that sail toward those isles fo yours that wait for me" -Pablo Neruda

"If you forget me"-Pablo Neruda's poems are lovely, simple and passionate.

I love this. The first time I had my heart broken my Mom gave me an old newspaper clipping of this poem.

You're trusting that person to hold the secret sections of your heart and to love the bits you thought were unlovable.

E.E. Cummings--I love this quote because it reminds me how much I trust my man. Enough to soar in the sky and not be afraid.

"you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises... and you learn that you really can endure..."

If life is a question mark, then you, my love, is a period.

And you are as beautiful as words written by the greatest love poets of all time!!

It will never change....I am here for you always....I will never leave your are my best soul mate. I love you with all of my heart!
