"The Hound of the Baskervilles," serialized 1901-1902. My favorite of Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes novels. He wrote four, but also produced a great number of fantastic short stories.

A NATURAL WOMAN chronicles King's extraordinary life, drawing readers into her musical world, including her phenomenally successful #1 album Tapestry, and into her journey as a performer, mother, wife and present-day activist.

"The truth was that Jay Gatsby, of West Egg, Long Island, sprang from his Platonic conception of himself. He was a son of God—a phrase which, if it means anything, means just that—and he must be about His Father’s business, the service of a vast, vulgar, and meretricious beauty. So he invented just the sort of Jay Gatsby that a seventeen year old boy would be likely to invent, and to this conception he was faithful to the end."

The reading of good books is like a conversation with the finest minds of past centuries.
