"SUSHI" Baby Shower Gift #babyshower #diapercake cuteness

  • Maya Hemachandra

Faux food gifts are a fun idea that's been floating around out there for a while.  You've probably seen diaper cakes or sock cupcakes, but here's a new twist!  Jolene from Creative Dollar used an assortment of baby essentials to create "sushi", which she presented all wrapped up on a plate.  Hers was a baby girl gift and included hair bows; for boys, you could use more socks or other small soft goods instead.  Sushi-loving moms-to-be will love this creative presentation!  [how to make a sushi baby shower gift] Project estimate: Onesies, $1 and up Washcloths, $1 and up Fish toy, $1 and up Baby socks, $1 and up Plate, $1 and up Black plastic table cloth, $1 Rubber bands, on hand Scotch tape, on hand Chopsticks, on hand or $1 Total:  $6 and up

Such a cute idea! Use baby items to roll up and make a sushi plate.

awesome baby gift!!!....would love to do with appliqued 1, 3, 6, 9, & 12mo milestone onesies!

Hers was quite expensive to make, but this ribbon topiary/ball is super cute! I'm sure it would be a lot cheaper if you have some of this stuff already at home.

Felt block animals. These are adorable and look easy to made! (Made these for a little friend. I tried using glue to attach the eyes, etc., but that did not hold. I ended up having to take them apart and sew on all the little details. Such cute little blocks.)

Whole basket made from the lollipops, candies and cupcakes. Nice inspiration!
