Established in 1965, Project Friendship matches Carleton students with elementary school youth (grades 2nd-7th) from the Northfield schools. The goal of the program is to develop strong friendships between college students who have made positive choices in their lives and children who need such role models.

Small Group Counseling Sessions: Activities designed to help students improve their emotional awareness. Specifically that there are physical reactions common to a range of emotions. Increasing this awareness, will also support students’ ability to manage certain reactions. These activities are intended for students in 4th through 6th grade, but could be used for grades above or below with some modifications.
