Another pinner said: This kept my 2 year busy for an entire hour and my 4 year old busy for 2 hours! YAY! Drop vinegar tinted with food coloring onto a pan filled with baking soda. Sheer minutes of colorful fizzy fun!"
SCIENCE FAIR PROJECT. This would be very easy for kids to participate in. Just buy white carnations and add food coloring to the water in the tubes and watch the flowers change color. this would be very easy for high school and middle school kids. However, with elementary kids you risk them making a big mess if they were to spill the water while handling the tubes.
So another great project for kids. This one is called a lava lamp...same technique. Fill water bottle with oil, food coloring, and water. Is this not cool or what? Kids can add gems, little fish, or anything to make it personal.
Popped Bubble Art: I've done this activity with my kids a few times now and it never fails to fascinate them - and me! Simply color bubble mix with food coloring and blow bubbles onto paper - as the bubbles land and pop, they create beautiful works of art.
