Star Sand

The Pink Beach, Sardinia, Italy ~ The National Park of La Maddalena is the Italian nature reserve known throughout the world for its beautiful pink sand beach : the ' Sardinian island of Budelli is in fact covered by a blanket of soft pink sand, the result of the unique symbiosis between a particular microorganism and the common Posidonia. Because of its delicacy, in order to be preserved, the beach was banned for bathing and can be seen only from the sea.
