Friendship Block, made by Mercy Jane Bancroft Blair, made in South Apalachin, New York, c. 1855-1863, 90 x 79, IQSCM 1997.007.0852    A note attached to this quilt states it was made by friends for Mercy Jane (Bancroft) Blair. However, with research and the help of Blair descendants, we learned the quilt was likely made by Blair in 1863.
