To keep in mind on those challenging days when you wonder how a kid could behave that way

"If kids come to us from strong, healthy functioning families, it makes our job easier. If they do not come from strong, healthy functioning families, it makes our job more important.

This was so me in school! My Dad would always ask me as a Kid and even now as a teacher if they didn't let me talk in school. Because I'd talk so much when I got home!

I teach

I facilitate thinking. I engage minds. I listen to questions. I encourage risk I support struggle. I cultivate dreams. I learn everyday. I teach. I'm so proud of you for getting accepted into the program, babe. You are a really great teacher!

So unbelievably true nowadays. Why are teachers expected to teach birthdays in the classroom? Not okay.

This is so true. Politicians, but especially parents, need to take a look at what's real. Teachers are teachers. Teachers are not miracle workers. Education should always start at home!

This website has so many great ideas a teacher could use throughout the classroom. I like these line up sing alongs to get kids ready to move in the hallway!

Line Up Sing Alongs. Fun and adorable songs to sing when students are lining up in the classroom to promote positive hallway behavior.

Give crazy straws to students as birthday presents! More fun than receiving another pencil and better than giving away candy!

Think * Share * Teach: Monday Made It and a CAFE Freebie! Make these to go with the Silly Straws I have.

Creative way to post objectives without taking up dry erase board space!

Certificate frames from the dollar store, scrapbook paper, ribbons, and paper. Cute new learning objectives board. You could also have one for each math group and their write their learning objective.

Keep Calm and Pretend...Monday Motivator!

This is the first "Keep Calm" thing I've actually thought was funny. And so, so true.
