This plant is weirdly beautiful and the flowers are edible. They have a spicey taste. Blue Wildflower (Borage), Germany

Borage is an edible flower with a cucumber-like taste. The annual has a long taproot, so is best sowed directly in the garden. Often self-seeds again and again...Borage Oil is also a little known secret for keeping your skin healthy. It is a natural oil that not only restores moisture and smoothness to dry and damaged skin, but can also provide relief to people who suffer from chronic skin disorders such as eczema and atopic dermatitis. AND it is great nectar plant for bees!

Borage::Freely seeding, easy growing annual plant w/vivid blue flowers and leaves with/the flavor of cucumbers. It's considered an herb, but is often grown as a flower in vegetable gardens where it attracts pollinating bees and is considered a good companion plant for tomatoes, squash and strawberries. It supposedly deters tomato hornworms and improves the flavor of tomatoes. The flowers add flavor and vibrant color to soups/salads/sandwiches, spreads, beverages/ice cubes. A mild laxative.

Pinner said...Borage ('Starflower') flowers change color as they mature, so you can have pink, blue and purple flowers on the same plant at the same time. So cool! They also self seed.
