"God's children and their happiness are my reasons for being." ~~Red Skelton A Funny Man and a Wonderful Human Being
Red Skelton. Oh how I loved him. Such good memories. My grandpa could make some of the same faces and he would keep me laughing all the time. When I was a little girl, we watched Red Skelton together. If lucky enough to find reruns..videos...etc....he can still make me laugh till I cry.
Red SKELTON (1913-1997) * AFI Top Actor nominee, and top wag - "All men make mistakes, but married men find out about them sooner." * "Don't take life too seriously, you don't come out of it alive anyway." * "If by chance some day you're not feeling well and you should remember some silly thing I've said or done and it brings back a smile to your face or a chuckle to your heart, then my purpose as your clown has been fulfilled." ~Red Skelton
Red Skelton was staying at the Garden of Allah during WWII when it was considered the patriotic thing to do for film stars to pick up servicemen and take them home for a meal or a drink. When Red brought a Marine back with him, they discussed firearms and Red showed I’m a German lugar that he owned. The marine examined it and asked “Is it loaded?” “Yes,” said Red whereupon the marine pointed the gun at Red and robbed him of his watch, wallet and escaped, taking the revolver with him.

Johnny Carson - the "King of Late Night". I spent many a night watching him when I should have been asleep, getting rest for school in the morning. No one ever has come close to him in my eyes, except for David Letterman, who will be retiring after 30+ years (in 2015). Bummer.
Johnny Carson's home town of Norfolk, #Nebraska, where a number of his artificats and Emmy's are on hand. Pretty little town.....HoMe.
Johnny Carson...he was the best!! I remember discovering Johnny Carson, a great reason to stay up late and watch the 10"B/W TV
Johnny Carson begins a 30-year reign as host of the "Tonight Show." The future of late night television seemed in doubt when network executives give a young comedian named Johnny Carson a shot at hosting the "Tonight Show." Five years later, nearly everyone was talking about whatever happened the night before on "the Carson show." Johnny remained the undisputed leader of late night television until he retired. - 1962.

Andy Griffith played a widowed sheriff with a young son (Ronny Howard) living in the fictional small community of Mayberry, NC. His life was complicated by an inept, but well-meaning deputy, Barney Fife (Don Knotts). The "Andy Griffith Show" ran 10/3/60 to 4/1/68. Gomer Pyle (Jim Nabors) was introduced in the middle of the third season as a simpleminded auto mechanic. He appeared in 23 episodes from 1962-1964.
