The final activity was a parachute and balloon activity. This is another playgroup activity that the kids all love. First we played "balloon popcorn" bouncing the balloons on the bed sheet. The second parachute activity involves floating the sheet up and down while the children giggle and laugh underneath.
One at a time, each guest at the party stood about 5 feet in front of the board and threw a dart at the balloons, trying to pop one. The balloon would pop, and the candy would explode, and the child got to run and grab all the candy from their balloon. The kids loved it, and even the littlest guys who were 4 and 5 years old could pop a balloon pretty easily.
As an alternative to a pinata, fill balloons with goodies for the kids and hang for a lot of fun. Each kid picked a balloon in turn and popped it and bagged the treats in their goody bag. The kids at my daughter's party loved this! No fighting for the loot and lots of fun.
