Twelve Apostles, Australia Witness the rugged splendour of the famous 12 Apostles, magnificent rock stacks that rise up majestically from the Southern Ocean on Victoria’s dramatic coastline. Created by constant erosion of the limestone cliffs of the mainland beginning 10-20 million years ago, the stormy Southern Ocean and blasting winds gradually eroded the softer limestone, forming caves in the cliffs. The caves eventually became arches and when they collapsed rock stacks up to 45 metres high were left isolated from the shore.

The Twelve Apostles Australia. 40 places to see before you die
The Twelve Apostles (Victoria, Australia): The Twelve Apostles is a collection of limestone stacks off the shore of the Port Campbell National Park. The apostles were formed by erosion: the harsh weather conditions from the Southern Ocean gradually eroded the soft limestone to form caves in the cliffs, which then became arches, which in turn collapsed; leaving rock stacks up to 45 metres high.

Marina Bay Sands Skypark, Singapore. There are many jaw-dropping infinity pools out there, but this one has to be one of the coolest. Sitting a remarkable fifty-five stories high, this pool rests at the top of the worlds most expensive hotel and is longer than the Eiffel tower placed on its side. With the water effortlessly flowing over the extremities, this pool gives you a luxury view you are sure to remember.

Cage diving in South Africa is on the list! *Photographer David Litchfield took this incredible photograph of cage divers confronting a massive great white shark on the Isla de Guadalupe. The shot was one of the finalists of National Geographic’s annual photo contest. It’s hard to tell how big this shark is, but when you compare it to the divers in the cage it’s certainly not small.

Leopard, South Africa A dew-bathed juvenile leopard takes a peaceful moment atop a fallen tree on a wintry South African morning. Compared with other African game, leopards are famously shy and rarely seen, partially because of their largely nocturnal hunting habits. Leopards number among many other species of top predators whose population numbers are falling due to human impacts, making this a special sighting of a rare animal that is both powerful and extraordinarily gorgeous.
Animal story Leopard, South Africa by Madison Hall
Leopard. "Wild tigers could become extinct in 12 years if countries where they still roam fail to take quick action to protect their habitats" The World Wildlife Fund and other experts say only about 3,200 tigers remain in the wild, a dramatic plunge from an estimated 100,000 a century ago. Their habitat is being destroyed by forest cutting and construction, and they are a valuable trophy for poachers who want their skins and body parts prized in Chinese traditional medicine. The program aims to protect tiger habitats, eradicate poaching, smuggling, and illegal trade of tigers and their parts, and also create incentives for local communities to engage them in helping protect the big cats." http://www.alop.org/2010/12/tigers-could-be-extinct-in-12-years-if-unprotected/ "Right now there are more tigers in captivity than there are in the wild"-National Geographic Help save the big cats! Can you imagine an earth with out Lions, Tigers, and other exotic cats? Well, extinction is not far from happening if we don't do something about it! "National Geographic's net proceeds from the sale of Cause An Uproar merchandise go to the National Geographic Big Cats Initiative. This program is dedicated to halting the decline of big cats through on-the-ground conservation projects. Cause An Uproar to save big cats today." Find out more at: causeanuproar.org.
