Gone with the Wind: Tara
As the family reads from the Bible and says their prayers in the parlor, Scarlett can’t stop thinking about Ashley and the fact that he’s planning to marry Melanie. The nerve of Ashley why in the world would he want Melanie when he could have Scarlett? He is a little light in his loafers.

Scarlett O'Hara's pantalettes (that she talks about with Rhett in "Gone with the Wind") at the Road to Tara Museum in Jonesboro, Georgia
Pantalettes at the Road to Tara Museum: Long straight white drawers worn as an undergarment under dresses, trimmed with rows of lace at the hem that became fashionable for a very short time.
See Scarlett O'Hara's pantalettes at the Road to Tara Museum in Jonesboro, Georgia [She is seen wearing these in the two bedroom scenes, when she is being laced by Mammy in her bedroom at Tara, and during her afternoon nap at the Twelve Oaks barbecue.
No Belle could be lovelier than you when you make your entrance wearing this truly fabulous Civil War style ball gown! Made up in a rich brocade and a satin underskirt, this gown features lavish lace trim and satin bow accents. Rich pearl-beaded lace drapes generously, framing the off-the-shoulder style at the neckline and over the sleeves, and then more beaded lace cascades down the front of the bodice. The three-quarter sleeves are accented with a satin ribbon and finished out with more lace.

Vivien Leigh, Gone With The Wind (1939). My favorite GWTW dress!
16 year old Scarlett O'Hara played by Vivien Leigh with one of the Tarleton twins in the opening scene of 'Gone With The Wind'. The opening scenes of the film where originally filmed first in the production, but reshot near the end. After working for months on the demanding shoot Vivien Leigh had become visibly haggard, and needed a break from filming before she could come back to play Scarlett at her youngest and most pampered. The white dress was added for the reshoot to emphasize the sense of Scarlett's virginity and innocence at the start of the film.

Scarlett with one of the Tarleton twins. "you know the Wilkes always marry their cousins"
In the book, Scarlett is wearing a low cut afternoon dress in the opening scene...it's the same one she wears to the barbecue at the Wilkes's the next day. But I love this dress all the same.
