I eliminated the cumin (personal taste), substituted brown sugar, reduced the amount of cayenne to 1/2 tsp; then use the microwave rather than regular oven. Start with 3 minutes and gradually increase until done. They should lose the shine when finished. I have always received rave reviews from friends as I gift them constantly. It's a great way to use up varieties of nuts.

spicy nuts and seeds. mix 3 cups nuts with 1/4c each flaxseeds, quinoa, and sunflower seeds. whisk together 2 egg whites, 2 Tbls honey, 1/4 tsp cayenne, cumin, and cinnamon. toss with nut mix. bake at 325 degrees until dry, stirring occasionally. about 30 mins. easy!

So cool! Make your own Beer Nuts -- looks really easy, I'm going to try. Just boil a few ingredients together, then spread out on a sheet to bake, so simple!
