President John Fitzgerald Kennedy born May 29, 1917 - Died November 22, 1963 (aged 46) - assassinated
John F. Kennedy - First time I heard of him, I was 5 and watching the convention with my Dad. I asked who he was, Dad said, "A young senator from Massachusetts." I remember people would not vote for him because he was Catholic; suspicious that he would take his direction from the Pope.
John F. Kennedy : He was one of my favorite presidents next to Abraham Lincoln. I did a lot of school reports on them. They fascinated me. Still do.
John F. Kennedy : "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country"
John F. Kennedy : The most beautiful president in U.S. history! (:

For without belittling the courage with which men have died, we should not forget those acts of courage with which men…have lived… A man does what he must – in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures – and that is the basis of all human morality. Dangers.... Stars create illusions that are pleasurable to see. The danger is that people tire of them—the illusion no longer fascinates—and turn to another Star. Let this happen and you will find it very difficult to regain your place in the galaxy. You must keep all eyes on you at any cost. Do not worry about notoriety, or about slurs on your image; we are re¬ markably forgiving of our Stars. After the death of President Kennedy, all kinds of unpleasant truths came to light about him—the endless affairs, the addiction to risk and danger. None of this diminished his appeal, and in fact the public still considers him one of America's greatest presidents...... But bad publicity is less of a danger than disappearing for too long, or growing too distant. You cannot haunt people's dreams if they never see you. At the same time, you cannot let the public get too familiar with you, or let your image become predictable...... Perhaps the greatest danger Stars face is the endless attention they elicit. Obsessive attention can become disconcerting and worse. As any attractive woman can attest, it is tiring to be gazed at all the time, and the effect can be destructive, as is shown by the story of Marilyn Monroe. The solution is to develop the kind of distance from yourself that Dietrich had—take the attention and idolatry with a grain of salt, and maintain a certain detachment from them. Approach your own image playfully. Most important, never become obsessed with the obsessive quality of people's interest in you.

Kennedy swept the entire Northeastern United States, with the exception of the 3 Upper New England states, although he was much stronger in New Hampshire and the result was much closer than in neighboring Vermont and Maine. So true -> "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." -- John Kennedy, 35th U.S. President
"He would seem at one moment older than his age, forty-eight or fifty, a tall, slim, sunburned professor with a pleasant weathered face, not even particularly handsome; five minutes later, talking to a press conference on his lawn... he would look again like a movie star, his coloring vivid, his manner rich, his gestures strong and quick, alive with that concentration of vitality a successful actor always seems to radiate."

Senator John F. Kennedy posed for Los Angeles Times staff photographer William S. Murphy during an interview a week after the 1958 mid-term elections. The interview was on November 13, 1958 at the Santa Monica home of Kennedy’s brother-in-law, actor Peter Lawford. A few weeks after the President was assassinated, Jacqueline Kennedy was asked to select a photograph of her late husband to appear on a 1964 stamp, and she chose this impromptu image.

"There is a connection, hard to explain logically but easy to feel, between achievement in public life and progress in the arts. The age of Pericles was also the age of Phidias. The age of Lorenzo de Medici was also the age of Leonardo da Vinci. The age Elizabeth also the age of Shakespeare. And the New Frontier for which I campaign in public life, can also be a New Frontier for American art." --Response to letter sent by Miss Theodate Johnson, Publisher of Musical America to the two presidential candidates requesting their views on music in relation to the Federal Government and domestic world affairs. Then-Senator John Kennedy's answer was dated September 13, 1960 and published in the October issue of the magazine.

We set sail on his new sea because there is a new knowledge to be gained, and new rights to be won, and they must be won and used for the progress of all people. ... Whether it will become a force for good or ill depends on man, and only if the United States occupies a position of pre-eminence can we help decide whether this new ocean will be a sea…

Handsome and young John F. Kennedy has so much to look forward to until that terrible day ended his life.
Born on May 29, 1917, in Brookline, Massachusetts, John F. Kennedy (known as Jack) was the second of nine children. His parents, Joseph and Rose Kennedy, were members of two of Boston's most prominent Irish Catholic political families. Despite persistent health problems throughout his childhood and teenage years Jack led a privileged youth, attending private schools such as Canterbury and Choate and spending summers in Hyannis Port on Cape Cod.
