Vladimir Nabokov. Lolita. Romance and Repulsion.

'Lolita.' I can recite the first (and best!) paragraph in the book by heart \♥-♥/

An alternate cover for Vladimir Nabokov's infamous novel "Lolita," which I didn't actually finish reading. I think this cover helps evoke much of the sinister sensuality of the work, which I did appreciate.

“Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. Lo-lee-ta: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth. Lo. Lee. Ta" -Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita

" Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul... Lolita"

Nabokov Specimen Box Project. Transparent Things: Marian Bantjes. Photograph by Alison Gootee. John Gall, the Art Director of Vintage and Anchor Books asked 20 talented designers to design cover for a specimen box (since Nabokov collected and displayed butterflies). Each box would consist of a photograph, and be filled with paper, ephemera, and insect pins to evoke the book's content. The Nabokov Collection: Observatory: Design Observer
