I use Rachael Ray's Garbage Bowl when I cook. Great idea for the class, too! Whenever the class is doing a cutting activity, put a "garbage bowl" on the table. It collects paper scraps and eliminates paper on the floor.
whiteboard cleaning: You can use Air Freshener to clean a dry erase board that just won't erase (because the ink is very dried on) . Spray the board and wipe, it also helps "recondition" old dry erase boards.
Homework club- If they turn all their homework in on time, then they get to stay in the club! If they don't then they are out of the club. Students who turn all their homework in for the entire month get to come to the monthly homework club lunch.
*ORGANIZATION TIPS* The students store their work samples in a pizza box, which I store on a wire shelving unit. The boxes are much easier to use than file folders, since some of the work samples are not always flat or the size of 8 x paper.
