Little Annapurna, Leavenworth, Washington. A pyramidal peak with a steep south face, Little Annapurna was named for its resemblance to its namesake in the Himalayas. The summit is a prominent feature on the south rim of the Enchantments, situated amongst the jagged spires that comprise some of the best climbing in the region.
Although totem poles have become a symbol of all Northwest Coast Native people and their use has spread to neighboring tribes through the years, tall multiple-figure poles were first made only by the northern Northwest Coast Haida, Tlingit, and Tsimshian peoples in Southeast Alaska and British Columbia.
