Twice a year, New Yorkers get a chance to experience “Manhattanhenge”, the occurrence where the setting sun aligns perfectly with east-west streets. - spectacular!

The gate is pretty, but I mostly just love the fact that the water is slightly lapping around its base.

You can see the grid pattern on the Island that makes getting around Manhattan much easier -- above 14th St., that is!
