Cold Fire- Dean Koontz. Another brilliant author who has never written a bad novel. Cold Fire seems to me to be one of his more brilliant works though, mainly due to the severe mindf*** it gives you. What I love about Koontz, he has a talent for tking the ridiculous & unbelievable, and in the end giving the reader a plausible and rational explanation for it all. Again- BRILLIANT! In addition, he's able to incorporate some deep thinking conversations between his characters. Quoteworthy!!!
More than 3 centuries ago, Nicholas Winters altered his genetic makeup in a competition with alchemist & Arcane Society founder Sylvester Jones. Driven to control their psychic abilities, each man's decision has reverberated throughout the family line, rewarding some with powers, & cursing others with madness. The Dreamlight series involves the cursed ones who legend says must find the Burning Lamp & a woman with the gift to read the lamp's dreamlight. (#2 Burning Lamp, #3 Midnight Crystal)
