playroom cabinets TUNHEM cabinets from IKEA. The perfect storage solution for the formal living room, which we've made into a playroom for the kids. Fast clean up, close the doors, and the room is presentable and ready to be used for new activities.
Stairwell Pantry If the stairs leading to your cellar are wide enough, the wall beside (above left) them can be transformed into a pantry for items you use regularly, such as canned goods and other kitchen supplies. Have your local home store or lumberyard cut one-by-fours in decreasing lengths (use the longest shelves at the top of the stairs, the shorter ones near the bottom). Give them a coat of semigloss paint to make them easy to wipe clean. Then hang them (these are spaced about a foot apart) with metal L brackets.
Create extra storage space by screwing wire closet shelving to joists in your garage or basement. Wire shelving is see-through, so you can easily tell what's up there.
This image is a near exact replica of what I saw in my head as a redo for the small under the stair space. I love all the white/light wood and almost rustic feel of the paint on the old dresser upcycle. It kicks the whole "dark, damp, and musty" ideas of basements right out the door.
