    If you're camping, rub petroleum jelly over a bunch of cotton balls, then store in ziplock bag, then when your ready to make a fire pull a few cotton strands out then place under your wood then light your cotton ball. Instant fire starter. Good to know for fire pits too!

    Too messy. I love taking the cheap cotton squares that are used for makeup removal and then dipping them in melted wax for a few seconds. You can then use 1/4-1 at a time and they are easy to store. A full one burns for like 3 minutes. I just use old candles for the wax. Just melt it on a double boiler.
