Slide 2 -- MANHATTAN - For the kitchen of Aerin Lauder's Manhattan apartment, Victoria Borus of B Five Studio created a whimsical blue-and-white breakfast nook. A graphic, custom-colored Deauville fabric covers the banquette and throw pillows, as well as the cushions on the Chinese Chippendale–style chairs. Framed art by Lauder's sons hangs on the walls; the Puppy vase is by Jeff Koons.

LOVE the benches along the windows. Would be perfect for the breakfast nook.

Built in kitchen 'booth' is such a great idea. It's welcoming. the storage, and bench. They built this themselves! I would do everything but the top cubbies, it's too high so I'd never use it. Maybe mount some art there instead.

♥ this! I could keep old Jeff busy with projects :) I'd much rather have this in our eat in kitchen than my regular old table ;)

book nook :) I just want to curl right up in it! Love the beadboard walls and ceiling and the special stained glass window! This nook is big enough to sleep a guest on too. Love that!

“Our kitchen in the country is similar to our kitchen in New York.  There are white cabinets, brass fixtures, elements of blue, and framed children’s art in both spaces,” Lauder says.  “I have a formula for kitchens that always works for us.”
